Working Principle
1. Pre-Bending
The sheet metal edge is first bent to create the required preliminary hem profile.
2. Positioning
The pre-bent workpiece is positioned between the appropriate press brake tooling, with the folded section aligned beneath the flattening punch.
3. Flattening
The Flattening Press Brake Punch descends into the folded area. Its narrow working section provides the necessary clearance while the lower tip applies compressive force to the folded material.
4. Final Compression
Further controlled downward movement compresses the folded section, producing a flattened or closed hemmed edge according to the required part design.
