Optimized 80° Angle for Springback Control: Unlike standard 90° dies, the 80° angle design allows operators to over-bend thick materials slightly (air bending technique). This critical design feature compensates for the significant springback effect common in high-tensile strength plates, ensuring the final part relaxes to a perfect 90° or desired angle without bottoming out.
The die shoulders feature a generous 9.0 mm radius. This minimizes the "digging" effect into the sheet metal surface, reducing stress concentration marks and preventing cracking on the outer radius of the workpiece, which is vital when bending aluminum or sensitive structural steels.
