Bendmax Mechanical Crowning Table | CNC/Manual Deflection Compensation System

Bendmax Mechanical Crowning Table | CNC/Manual Deflection Compensation System

Press brake crowning is a critical compensation technology that addresses deflection issues in sheet metal bending operations. When bending long workpieces, press brakes naturally deflect under load, creating inconsistent bend angles across the material length.

Mechanical wedge crowning system - By far the most common solution to compensating for deflection is mechanical crowning systems. Mechanical crowning systems are installed in place of a bottom tool holder, as they also serve this function. They typically feature either mechanical or hydraulic clamping as options. They also typically feature different drive designs, from analog to digital readouts and from hand crank assemblies to CNC motors. Mechanical crowning systems can typically be outfitted to the press brake at the time of purchase, as well as after the purchase in the form of a retrofit. Mechanical crowning systems vary in design, accuracy, and ease of use from product to product.

If your press brake didn't have a hydraulic crowning system, then a mechanical crowning system will probably be the solutiont what you need to compensate for deflection.

Superior Material Quality

The Press brake deflection compensation table No.50900 is engineered for European-style tooling systems, featuring a compact 60 mm height and an efficient eccentric lever mechanism that ensures fast and secure punch clamping. With its 150 mm length and 17.5 mm width, this clamp provides stable alignment and reliable holding force during continuous bending operations. It is an ideal choice for sheet metal fabricators seeking improved setup efficiency and consistent press brake performance.

Mechanical Wave Crowning for Press Brake Deflection Compensation

Setting up Mechanical Crowning

Initial Setup Process:

` Find out how much deflection is expected based on the maximum tonnage and the lengths of the workpieces
` Place wedge blocks in the right places based on the calculated compensation profile
` Begin from the middle and move outward toward the ends of the machine
` Make a gradual compensation curve that matches the expected deflection pattern

Long-Term Upkeep:

` Inspect wedge blocks for wear patterns every 3-6 months of operation and replace worn wedge blocks if needed
` Check for proper wedge contact and alignment using feeler gauges
Lubricate lead screws and adjustment mechanisms weekly to prevent seizure
` Monitor compensation accuracy degradation
` Verify wedge positioning after any machine relocation or major maintenance
